I have seen several Old Hickory knives modified into nessies but that is the nicest rendition I have seen. Congrats

Thank you! I sanded the handle with a fine grit as well as the blade itself. Then I stained it mahogany. I even made a simple sheath for it which can be worn on the belt or around the neck.

Slim to none would be my guess.
That would make sense. No need to set up machinery more than once!!

I keep checking every time I am on the computer to see if this is the day to order. i love the idea of this blade now that I have read up on it. I have never held a knife with the mudder grips but from what I understand it is almost the best thing since sliced bread.

I was gone a week and up pops up this thread. Never in my wildest dreams did I think the yard would go from dim to bright so quickly!

Okay, I have say that while this offering has its surprises, wow - kudos to the yard for coming out with such a different type of knife. Small, stainless, traditional yet with the modern handle. I think it is a great diversion from the blade profile we have come to expect from the yard. My interest in this company just stepped up another notch.

There is some innovation happening here folks! Applause, applause, applause. Great work. Now I just gotta come up with cash, much quicker than anticipated.

Is it me, or does the SMLE on the first post look computer-generated?

It would help to have more pics of this blade.

Eh, maybe it's the red background that's messing with me.

I want one of these too!!

That raises an interesting question. Under the new business plan, can someone explain what the purpose is behind announcing a knife or knives and then releasing them at a later date? I can see where doing that made sense under the old business plan. Under the old plan, time was needed to get the word out, build excitement and enthusiasm, and queue customers up to purchase the knives when they became available for sale. But under the new business plan, that's no longer required. Knives are going to sit in the store for several weeks no matter what. They'll be plenty of time to buy them and they won't even be manufactured until some or all of the orders are in. In fact, the longer the knives sit in the store, the greater the potential number of sales. Since there's no apparent advantage in delaying the release, why not just release knives when they're announced?
VERY good point Bruce- I was wondering the same thing ? Like......whats the hurry to order ? Kinda like people hurrying to get on a plane- we are all going to get where we are going at the same time. Go figure ?
SP- the picture is only a VISION
