Great chop o rama Vic! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I really love when you walk the back 40 and find projects like this to test our favorite blades. This was no different for the others... pure joy to read and watch!! Very well done chopfest Vic.

And man, when it came to the hands down favorite in the last shot... you cheated by adding that sheath to the mix! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

That Rainwalker leather sheath pushes that photo over the top with eye appeal! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" />

Great post Mr. Ross!<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

HD,
Those are great pictures.
Nice shots on the chop-off.
That DFLE is a monster to be able to go through that pine tree
with one chop. WOW!!!

Cheers

The DFs are great choppers. I can't understand why some folks don't like SR77. I know it holds an edge much better than my Tamontinas and nobody complains about them. I think having a tough steel that is easy to sharpen and touch up is ideal for hard use knives. I have seen 1095 Ontario machetes shatter. They don't usually, but it happens. I don't think that would ever happen to a SR77 blade.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Boy, that was great! Thanks for all the super pictures...you really have a beautiful place there, and great excuse to buy lots of cool knives! I can not wait to see the Dog Father BK9 go at it. I am currious to see how the RD9 does against the BK9 as well. I would like to get my hands on a Ranger Nightstalker in 9"...I bet it is better then the RD9.

I am a bit suprised the RD9 is close to the Dogfather....interesting.

It is funny from the pictures the RD7 looks quite a bit longer then the SOD and Becker....Cool that the SOD performed so well.

Great stuff...really thanks for the time!

Great job Vic! Seeing where the belt hit that BK7 makes me think about sharpening those dang DMCGs. I would much rather do three DMDCs than I would do one DMCG. Those little suckers are hard to do on a belt grinder without hitting the upper grind line with the belt.

Another awesome review Vic. Thanks! You're going to have to work more slowly cleaning up after the bad weather comes through so you have more "testing material". <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

And I like SR77 just fine <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

It seems the SYKCO knives are so much better looking sitting next to those other knives, they have smoothe flowing lines and the performance can't be beat. Not that looks matter where function is concerned, those other two just look kinda blunt and purely utilitarian,I bet they are good working knives though. How do they feel in the hand?

Thanks for bumping this thread. I just sent you an email concerning a SOD, RW CW, and Busse SARsquatch (sp) that was in another thread. I think I got my answer from the 2 threads. You are the man!
