Normally you won't. The numbers are issued in the order of orders received. But if you want a certain number, and that number has not yet been sold, you may request that number. At least, Renee was kindly doing that for JYDs who wanted their JYD #. After today, she may not want to do it again. I'm sure it just complicates the ordering process.

Man, I should have jumped in and bought 20 of them. Then I could have gouged all the old JYDs and we could have all enjoyed another "greedy secondary market" thread.

I dont mind the whole "ask for your #" thing. I got in real fast, but I asked for #16. was i faster than that? probably but I have other LE's from Busse Kin with that # so I figure why not keep a good thing goin. Hopefully that lets someone slower get a lower #. I have been here a long time, dont post much but I read ALOT.

I hope this doesnt become a big issue, it was very nice of Renee to do this even though it will cause her extra work. Thanks again Renee.

I totally agree. This could just be a stainless knife with no number and I would have bought it. That I am getting my JYD #45 makes it just a bit more sweet.

Well we are out of school today due to the ice storm we had yesterday, I have had problems with my crappy internet, and I over slept this morning -------------and today is the day this is released. So much for me getting # 13 I bet. That is the only number I really cared to get. Oh well, I will be using this knife and not in a safe so be it.

sumoj275a, your JYD# will be the count of JYDs+1 when you hit 1000 posts; right now, you're a Mutt (the title just under your name), you become a Junk Yard Dog at 1000 posts. The list of JYDs is posted in READ THIS! Rules & SY Info (Updated: 08-11-11) thread.

Based on the order# Dan Melone posted and the number of "I'm in" posts before his, I believe that at least 40 orders were placed before mine, but some of those are for multiples (I ordered 4) so I may well not be able to get #60. I haven't heard back from Renee on the PM and email I sent, but I imagine they're pretty busy on a release day.

I originally planned not to buy one of the Scrap Muks at all, but more I studied the design, the more I came to appreciate how it could be useful for an outdoors guy like myself. Christmas here was pretty good; I drove down and arrived at about 04:30, crashed into bed, to be "ambushed" by my three nephews at 07:45! LOL! They kept trying that pretty much everyday I was home visiting. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> All in all, it was very good.

The weather here has been pretty crazy as well; we had temperatures as low as
-29 Farenheit! The last week alone has seen two really good snowstorms, with white out conditions during the drive to and from the base. There were more than a few vehicles off the road; one of the primary reasons was not adapting their driving to the weather conditions, the secondary was driving a vehicle with old all-season tires on! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> *SIGH* All people are born stupid, thankfully, most of us grow out of it! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
