To you and your daughter -- you're welcome! The pup looks like it could be part shepherd. Either way, it will probably grow to be a terrific dog with a little TLC.

He is about 10-12 lbs. He is a pup, but I think he will be a little guy anyway....my folks raised enough big dogs that I notice a few traits lacking on this one to make me believe he will get larger that 20-25lbs

Well, although I like big dogs, my constant companion is my old beagle. A smaller dog is probably a better choice for a smaller child anyway. Your treatment and training of the dog will be the telling story.
