...My understanding from reading about different Swamp Rat releases is that the through hardened models are cheaper to produce and hold up just as well as the differentially tempered ones, so I don't know if this blade will be differentially hardened or not. The bottom line is, I TRUST BUSSE TO GET IT RIGHT! If I should break it, as I did one Swamp Rat through my own stupidity, SRKW will send me a brand new one. No risk at all.

I like the looks but it's a bit large for my use. I got no forest around to whittle down. I was looking for something a bit smaller for my first rat. I foresee some items on the secondary market <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />.

I won't pretend to know as much as Busse does about the proper heat treating of steel. That is what I pay them for when I buy their knives, to get it right. I'm not going to second guess them.
