That top one is so reminecant of the Yard Guard it's spooky. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />

Nice to know I already have a "Bolo" in SR-77! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I am challenged when it comes to sharpening blades, I have heard recurves are a bit of a pain so I try to avoid them if at all possible.

I see Jerry is getting closer with a bolo design with the Marco Bolo, I wish I could get Dan to build a full size Bolo not the 7 to 8 inch style. But you gotta start somewhere.

Bring on the Bolos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know, I was really hoping that this would've had more of the traditional curve to it. Seems Jerry straightened out the blade design a lot. I think POP is right, in that is looks more like Jerrys' version of the Yard Guard than it does a Bolo. Still a nice blade, I guess I was just hoping for more.

Ha, recurves are the only blades I can reliably sharpen.

that is funny. to sweeten the humor, it's like knife-geek-only humor. a sheep would never get it, and probably be a bit frightened.

It does look a little like the Yard hook but the bolo tip is more rounded and Jerry's tip is a little more rounded. It's not by much but the bolos get their strength from the weight at the tip and the re curve, the more the weight and curve the better at chopping. Actually the more I look at the two, I'm actually 2nd guesing buying one and waiting for a longer one.

For all I know those Marco Bolos have 2.5" blades and 6" aol. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

That handle shape looks about like the Hack's. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> - AD or MS handle size at best. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> But the scallops at the ricasso look more like what might be on a SFNO or ASH ??????? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Still appears small in my mind for a "Bolo" - Just a recurve to me.

In any event, I WISH Jerry would post SPECS with his Ganzaaa pics!!!!!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" />

Luckily, "CUSTOM" Ganzaaas are generally priced WAY high for me. So, since I am interested in a M9LE (which I can't justify or afford - even though I "WILL"), I can feel a little more at ease being able to pass on the Ganzaaaa this time.

I would LOVE an AK, but know I can't afford. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sad.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/paperbag.gif" alt="" />

.

JYD #39 I prefer "SATIN" blades!!!
