Am I right in assuming that the Busse Sarsquatch is a SAR knife? I am just partial to the bigger blades when it comes to getting work done, but I have never done search and rescue. Around here, a machete would be useful.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

do search and rescue crews use their knives for prying? i would think they know the conditions and circumstances they will encounter and arrive with the right tools for the job.

I'm thinking of the SAR crews around here, and I know that they go as light
as they possibly can so having a knife that can be utilized for additional
tasks means that they have less to carry.

I'd buy one! Of course, I'd probably buy anything the yard puts out...

I think that most of us will agree that the SOD is really close to the Camp Tramp
in size and shape.
Maybe the Yard needs to put out it's version of the RMD. That would fit right
into the idea that Tolly has about a SAR knife.

I like the idea of a SYCKO SAR knife. So far orange Res-C appears to be unanimous, and leaning towards longer mudder grips. As for the blade, SR-77 would probably fit the bill. Make the LE in INFI!

I like the idea of the res-c orange and 5"-5-1/2" with a fullsize handle. Coated or uncoated I'm in, I would also like to see a sheath come with it. I'm in for just about anything.

I don't mind being the first to say: I don't like or want orange..... or yellow, or red, or or blue or purple -

Honestly, I am not a fan of the "Putty" colored Res-C on the MPLE and Scrap Muk.

I do understand the value of high visibility handles in the woods if you drop your knife.

But, may I recommend high vis sheaths like Vances or high vis lanyards??? A lot of the SAR guys use 1" wide Nylon webbing "tags" tied to the lanyard holes.

Call me boring, but I like nice looking BLACK for my Res-C handles.

For that matter, for syntehtic options, I pretty much just like boring ol' black, green or brown micartas - sometimes "black" G10 and certain "black" Carbon Fiber Spyderco folders.

I don't even like red SAK's. I carry a "Black" SAK Executive.

.

JYD #39 I prefer "SATIN" blades!!!

Some bright orange Rainwalker goodness makes any Scrapyard an SAR knife.
