I like it! Imagine whipping out a SYCKO Kukri of that size!
Better make the handle for two handed chopping.

An 8" blade shaped like the old Rat-7 and Res-C handles would be sweet! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

It would, but I'm afraid I sent my money to Jerry already for an 8" blade. Ordered a NMSFNO in sage with black micarta scales. Like I needed another knife in that size! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Dan wont ever make a sword like some of you are posting and hoping for. I will be willing to bet on this claim. I could be wrong but I seriously doubt that I am.

SY makes hard use knives not swords. Dan needs to make what he has built his company on - hard use knives from 4 inches to 10inches.

this talk of 15-20 inch swords (or longer) and old school midevil axes is fantasy talk boys. SY just wont be making that <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> what ya wanna bet <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I really hate to be a "wet blanket", but I seriously doubt a fairly expensive bolo would chop much better than a $6.00 or so Tramontina machete. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> They are tough to beat for the money, and I'm sure that HornDog will agree with me. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

Why a bolo? Why not a kurki? Any particular reason? I not here to argue just learn.

JB,
A Khuk works for me just a much as a Bolo does!!
I love the one I have

Hmmm...you DO have a point there sir!
Khuks have a pretty good price point as well.

But you know, a Bolo or Khuk offered from the Yard in SR77
would be something that I would put my $$ down for. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I'm warming up to the idea of a bolo or khukuri but I really doubt I would spend money on one if it came up tomorrow. There was a review of some machetes used on one of the RAT training deals that was pretty good. A good machete costs 50 bucks and I can buy one anytime.

A DF or another SOD release on the other hand? Heck I would get two of each. I really wouldn't do anything but play with a sword if I was to buy one, which I won't. I'd cough up some real dough for a folder.
