BMT spent over a year in court fighting with Andy. I do not know the details of that other then he pretty much tied them up for an extended period of time, but they eventually won the case. However, the long delays in shipping orders and lack of contact definitely hurt them as a company. I have had pretty good luck with them, but others have had different experiences. I'm pretty sure they took care of everyone eventually. I recently got some hawks from H&B Forge. http://www.hbforge.com/ They are big beefy hawks at a good price and came nice and sharp.

My H&B spike hawk was actually my first hawk. I love that thing! There is a guy on the gun show circuit here who dirties up the haft, adds a few brass tacks and sells their Shawnee hawks for $100.

I have an ATC Lagana Hawk, and it is just OK. The fit and finish is crap. The head is pressed on crooked, and whoever did the grinding must have been drunk. I understand these things are mass produced, but a little QC would not hurt. I would never buy another, and after reading the info about Andy Prisco that just makes it easier.

Cold Steel and American Tomahawk Company have nothing in common other than the name and I hope Lynn runs him into the ground. Personally, I will never buy anything from ATC again, even though I really like some of the designs. This link will shed some light on why I dislike Andy so much. Justin is a really stand up guy and Andy made his life hell. http://andy-prisco.com/BTW, I do have an ATC hawk just like yours and really like it. I had Bear Mountain Tomahawks make a nice leather sheath for it. It is much nicer than the clunky one that comes with the ATC. I had my eye on an ATC 'hawk for a while. After reading THAT... I will never purchase anything from them. Ever.

Yes, Justin owns Ranger Knives. He is a great guy. He stands 100% behind everything he makes and he is willing to do whatever it takes to make you happy with your purchase.

Justin had his number posted on his site, I called him not knowing what to expect and I have to vouch that he is one of the easiest guys to deal with. Great experience, awesome blades (I've beat mine to Hell and back.) I like the look of the ATC Hawk, it's too bad things turned out that way.
