If Dan makes one, it would be a good model. If I didn't already have the HG-55 LE on order, I'd get one for sure. I just don't know if Dan will make one. Ok, guys, give me the SR77 lecture, but I don't think a 5.5" blade is too large for one in 154CM. In the mudder handle, of course.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Yes I think that would be interesting, ATS 34 is very similar to 154CM and I have a .25 thick 8 inch medium chopper which for 19 years or so has "chopped" and "cut" just about everything you would expect...batoned "iron wood" in Africa...even made fuzz sticks with South American hardwoods...it has a heat treatment giving a Rc58 level and I have never had a problem with it. A Busse heat treatment should work just as well and a 5.5 stainless knife would make for a useful combination...especially on food if "patina's" are a concern or "maintainance free" is a plus aspect.

I don't know if they have any 154CM in .25" stock. I would think that 3/16" would be thick enough, though. The Muk is quite rigid. With a high saber grind a Scrap Yard version of the HG-55 would be plenty strong for a fighter. But if Dan has it, sure, go with the thicker stock.

Yes, I think "management" will avoid a duplication of blades....it may well be a long time before a comparable SY knife is done....you really might be better going for what is "done" if it fit's the bill...

I agree, Peter. As much as I like Scrap Yard knives, I only prefer them over Busses for their affordable value in high performance knives. Busses are a bit expensive, but the HG-55 LE is actually not priced that high for what it is. This will be my one and only Busse LE. And the CG version is only a bit more than a Swamp Rat or Bark River. And it is INFI!

That is a pretty knife!! Looks like a RMD with Res C and I assume that is what you were referring to on the "history" point...that this design went to a Swamp Rat blade for the RMD rather than being produced also as a "Scraptail"?

I'm thinking hard about it, classic lines and Busse steel! It is Texas legal too with 5.5" blade length. I wish I could get one, see if I like it and order another. I like doubles of good things.
