Fug,

If you sent in your two emails, then sit back and enjoy the wait.
From what everyone else has been saying, Eric won't forget you.
Or the rest of us for that matter either
Cheers

...I guess my only question about the M9LE is what I would use it for. It is not likely to be as good a chopper as a DFLE or Battle Rat.

I am anxious to feel it in hand for balance and feel. I wasn't a fan of the M6. I felt the M6 was WAY too handle heavy. But, a 9 inch blade changes a lot.

We'll see. I am pretty optimistic about the M9LE.

I am getting one just because it looks so good! I'll be as cool as PoP with my Rainwalker Piggyback sheath with the M9LE and HCLE in it. All satin steel and black G10. And black leather, too. I hope it is all done in time for Blade so the people can admire it. How is that for vanity! (But I bet it chops well, too).

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

... Ach! That's the Kalamazoo 1SM, the very one I'm saving up for! Vic, you gotta tell me; is it really worth the money they charge you for it?

It is the essence of simplicity. And it has good, tight belt tension and a very smooth running cone head (Baldor) motor. The only thing I don't like about it is how time consuming it is to install and remove the platen. But I don't do a lot of flat grinding, so I can live with that. I got it for $260 or so delivered, and it came fast. I ordered it from Amazon, but I could have gotten it straight from msc/j&l and got free shipping. I do business with them but did not know they carried it. It is American-made, too.

Horn Dog, are you a Glen Miller fan?

I’ve got a girl, in Kalamazoo
Don’t want to boast but I know she’s the toast of Kalamazoo
Zoo, zoo, zoo, zoo, zoo
Years have gone by, my, my how she grew,
I liked her looks when I carried her books in Kalamazoo
Zoo, zoo, zoo, zoo, zoo

I’m gonna send away, hoppin’ on a plain, leaving today,
Am I dreaming? I can hear her screaming’
Hiya Mr. Jackson
Everything’s OKALAMAZOO

Oh, what a gal, a real pipperoo
We’re going’ to Michigan to see the sweetest gal in Kalamazoo
Zoo, zoo, zoo, zoo, zoo, zoo, zoo
Kalamazoo

That’s no parody.

The song was a hit during the Big Band/Swing era. Get a CD of the Glenn Miller band and you can hear it yourself.

I have heard the song many times. I know the tune by heart. Dad was a WWII vet and into swing, so that is what we kids grew up listening to. Maybe I'll sing it next time I grind.

Mine to. He rode a destroyer escort through the Pacific, and at D Day. We used to have a journal he wrote in the Navy, but that's gone with the wind.

That stuff is great music. Few rock bands lived and breathed their music the way the members of the Big Bands did. Those songs are a window into a different world, an America that used to be.
