Hey Mr Pink,
Is that convexed DM an ebay pick up? Looks like something I was lusting after...hmmmm????? Nope. The convexed ones were modded by Ban. Those look awesome!

OK. i think im more than excited. Going to get everything squared away tomorrow for the dude who sold it to me. I made him an offer he COULD NOT refuse!!!! trust me when im crazy about getting a certain knife, i will drop double, sometimes triple what it originally sold for. such was the case in this buy. dude said he needed $, i had extra $ so i got it He says it has a tight Pene. tip on it so i cant wait to kinda have a thick sr77 knife/ice pick! hell, its almost as thick as the nuclear ice pick from busse at the tip it looks like. im going to overnight the money to him and hopefully have it by the end of the week.
in other news... i got selected to be cadre at Fort Lewis - LDAC (what i did last summer as a cadet) and work as a 2LT. i will be on the land nav, combatives, first aid, etc committee. i will work like 4 days, get 3 off... i get comp pay and regular 2LY pay... all the while still getting my BHA and subsitence pay. life's about to start for this young 2LT... and i will have my DMCG with me all through training and of course, once I get to my unit. EOD school is 13 months - longest school in the Army - so i wont be going to my unit for a LONG LONG time.

Andy - who made that kydex sheath you have up there for the DMCG? does it rub the finish off? it looks not to fit it too tightly... amd i correct? how is rainwalker's kydex? i want something that isnt too tight on the blade but yet still keeps it there, ya know

Even the small Spec-Ops sheath is a bit bulky for the Mutt, but it will fit it. I keep my painted mutt in a Buck Strider Solution sheath.I like the Urban Mutt with its flat grind. It's still a tank at over .26" thick at the spine. But it cuts well. ![[Linked Image from i173.photobucket.com]](http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w64/rivershaman/Busse/sage002.jpg) I like sage. ![[Linked Image from i173.photobucket.com]](http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w64/rivershaman/Busse/sage001.jpg)
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Thanks Vic. Is the only difference between the "urban" mutt and the Dumpster mutt cg the thickness and grind? dmcg = saber and urban = flat???
buck strider sheath... is that the one pictured above? or the spec ops? is the buck strider sheath available to purchase now?

That is the Buck sheath. I had kydex made for my Buck. I had to heat and expand the liner to hold the Mutt. I don't know if Buck has the sheaths available or not. But my Dumpster Mutt CG would fit it, too. I sold my CG, preferring the UM. I have a few Rainwalker kydex sheaths for my DMDC and DMLE. They are excellent.

I might just get Jeff to make me one for the DMCG then... kydex or leather???? ahhh the choices.

quick ? for you guys that own the DMCG..... is it too fat to fit in the Spec OPS sheath? You can make it work in a Spec-Ops sheath but you will need to take the insert out, drop it in some boiling water for about 10 seconds or so, put the knife in it while reshaping. You can keep putting it back in the boiling water until you get it like you want it and then put the insert back in. Rainwalker's kydex is by far the best I've seen for the DMCG or any other knife for that matter. I have kydex from every maker you can imagine, and Jeff's(Rainwalker) are the best balance of style, toughness, and rentention without being formed to tightly to the blade itself than ANY I've ever seen.... The D-Mutt and Rainwalker sheath pictured below fell about 35ft to the rocks during a Fast Rope insertion and still looks like it did in these pics . ![[Linked Image from i133.photobucket.com]](http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q72/Tolly71/Sheaths1.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i133.photobucket.com]](http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q72/Tolly71/Sheaths2.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i133.photobucket.com]](http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q72/Tolly71/Sheaths3.jpg)

Thanks Vic. Is the only difference between the "urban" mutt and the Dumpster mutt cg the thickness and grind? dmcg = saber and urban = flat??? Mostly, but there's another small difference. The original DMCG uses the old Busse Basic handles. If you look closely at the some DMCG in person, you can still make out the words "BUSSE". The Urban Mutt uses the newer plain res-c stuff.
