i know the Yard will make it right... i was just wondering if they actually gave you a new knife or just did what HD was saying... are you serious HD? Im an idiot about this kinda stuff... id like to think that they would give you a new one because if one failed once, it surely could be more proned to failure in the future again.

They would replace the knife for a defect like that.

Just remembered, had a student bring up a Mk 3 that snapped right at the ? hilt? They're cast and it was smooth-ish from the spine to about 8% of the way to the blade. If it's still sitting there on monday I'll take a pic. Can tell from looking at it something didn't go right in the cast process. I guess it built up enough rust/resistance/deterioration that it finally gave.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

That's what I would say too.
Good thing we have an infinite warranty.

The gun is what I noticed from the pic also.
Looks like a bipod on it. A varminter?

Anyone know of a way to determine what time frame the bubble lot was?

Having gotten mine of the exchange....I would need to check when it was bought from the original owner....how long were the DFLE's up for?

That knife looked well used....is it common for it to happen quickly or after a fair bit of use?

They just slap some JB Weld on it and sand it smooth.

doesn't Dan use JWB weld?

sorry to see that Simon. it happens, rarely but it does. they will take care of you, one big reason we luv Scrapyard/BusseKin, for the warranty!

what I've seen Steel Fan is you need to use and find out if your blade has a problem, like I said and what others have said is it's rare to find one, that's maybe the 3rd or 4th out of a ton of DFs that I can recall ever hearing about. and every time it was taken care of.

use and beat your blades, don't let that happen to you when you really need it!
any blade, any company's!

No way of telling at all Steel Fan.

But I have only seen 3 bubble failures in the entire lifetime of DFCG and DFLE so if you put any power into worry over yours having a hidden bubble.... it is waisted time.

Odds... 1 in say 20,000 or so?

Enjoy your Dog Father, and Simon contact Scrap Yard for instructions on how and where to send the defective blade. No worries for any Dog!!

Peace.
