I hate to admit it, but I'm more excited about the M9 LE! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

Me, too. There's just so much available right now; I have to be careful with my cash. There's going to be some monstrously large knives there, and Daddy wants.

I love the big Busses - just can't afford many of them. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/paperbag.gif" alt="" />

Jerry's posted pics of the MOAB are impressive! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" /> I absolutely love the blade shape on that monster, but for me a thickness of .401 is a little too thick! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

IMHO, the MOAB has a lot of "OOOooo... AHHhhh..." factor, but it borders on being a "fantasy knife" because it's simply too big and heavy to be practical. If I was to buy one, it would be purely for bragging rights -- something smaller would be far more practical (and much less costly).
I just read Vic's post in another thread where he said nearly the same thing.

the moab looks nice except the handle is too small.

I just heard from my mate Jeremy Horton and he scored a Silent Knight at $1297 which is the second from the left knife in Jim's first photo....now that knife looks ALMOST good VFM in comparison to the MOAB's and will be thinner...faster...and more useful...albeit knives that big are a little too big for me because they need to be carried on a Bergan really or else they are "in the way" a little to much when swinging on your belt like a sword...it makes moving fast on your feet a bit of a crash bang wallop ordeal...

I almost bought that Silent Knight, since I really wanted one, but for some reason in person it just didn't have the same pull that it did in pictures. Maybe if there was no blade hook? I don't know... but I just couldn't get myself to pull the trigger on it.
So I bought a NMSFNO and another SJTAC instead and called it a day.
Maybe some day I'll be lucky enough to come across an Argonne Assault. That's what I *really* want, anyway.
