First off though, had a mechanical issue with the truck. Recently i did a complete brake job front and back, new rotors, drums, pads, shoes, springs, cylinders, fluid etc etc. They work great, got about 1000+ KM's on them.

my lady friend and I were coming down a long steep windy part of the hwy, when i noticed the pedal sinking all the way to the floor. WTH? I slowly pull the e-brake lever to slow us down, as I downshifted to a lower gear. E-brake lever came right out. WTH!!!!!!!!

coasted into the flats, we stopped for a burger, and i pulled off the wheels and drums off the rear.

what do you notice here?

yep, the slack adjuster detent lever has popped off the star wheel, and the adjuster rod yoke has popped off the brake shoes.........

So easy enough fix, took a bit of jiggling and grunting and cursing to get it back in, then a few stops to adjust the clearance.

That is some beautiful colors in the flowers. Now, the box of blades--I love it!

PICS!

i did'nt have much time, so what i did was chop each knife 6 times into some hard alder and take a pic of the depth of cut etc. Assigned points for performance. 10 being high rating of course:

thumbnail pics are clickable for larger views!

keep in mind this is an informal "take a bunch of knives into woods" and have fun test,,,,,

ZT 0200: small depth of cut 5/10

SOD!!! SOD!!! SOD!!!!

super deep clean cuts, awesome handle, and edge retention! 10/10 (edge is slightly convexed from stock)
[Linked Image from i37.photobucket.com][Linked Image from i37.photobucket.com]

now the comparision:

The SOD rules the woods. The res-c handle is king, the edge retention is great, and the depth of cut and clean cutting is tops. A bit hard to sharpen but a minor issue

The other contender is the BK9. Wicked slicer (fuzzsticks) and it gets DEEP intio the wood when chopping. easy to sharpen.

as for the rest they all work, but these two are tied even.

YMMV
