In INFI I will be a lot more tempted to buy this. I've wanted to get my hands on an INFI blade but I don't have the cash for Busse prices. Even in INFI, I expect a scrap yard blade to be a lot more reasonable!

At least that's what I hope...

+1 <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> ... I very excited about what appears to be INFI, but very concerned about the price now. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> I guess I better start selling stuff and preparing to have to buy CG and strip my own again. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sad.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" />... But, being INFI is very cool.... "IF" the price is right and I can afford it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Would they really make the LE and CG versions using two different steels? Have they ever done that before? That would be cool.

A lot of the things I have read on steels say that 154CM is good if you can get old stock...otherwise most have switched to ATS-34 because of the imperfections found in newer 154CM due to changes in the manufacturing process.

I like a lot of steels and find that there are a lot of opinions on them <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
I don't have any SR-77 blades and that is what makes the SY knives unique - so I kind of hope for that but it is a nice knife no matter the steel.

Just curious...Why 154CM as the other steel? Why not ATS-34 or S30V or VG-10, etc.? This is just a question for curiosities sake.

Thanks.

IIRC, Jerry bought "tons and tons" of 154 CM at the action after Cammilus went belly up. So it likely is old stock.

Perhaps you should take another look at the pricing thread. It will make a whole lot more sense to you now. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Looks like you are right about the INFI Bruce. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/paperbag.gif" alt="" />

I am VERY excited about INFI. I LOVE INFI.... But, I still hope you are wrong about pricing.

The SS4 was $139.95.

I would guess this in CG will be at least $149.95 <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> and I couldn't fathom a clue to what it will be in LE. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sad.gif" alt="" />

While I love INFI, these prices are KILLING me! Recent INFI pricing has got me worried and I have NEVER seen an INFI LE price that didn't bother me. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I am honestly pretty tired of satin finishing my CG blades. I HATE CG blades and it is just more work than it is worth in many cases. And definitely more work that it should have to be if pricing were reasonable for satin INFI.

I honestly "might" wish for 154CM (for reasonable priced satin finish), but depending on what the actual prices for INFI end up being.

I am with you now in that I will HAVE to hold my reservations till I see pricing now. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
