Even if we have all been had, and it is a hoax, which I doubt, I will be getting one or two. I do think that if the original picture said INFI then it's a pretty safe bet that the knife is INFI.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

My recommendation in that case is to buy early and buy often!!!

I will buy one even if it is CPM, but I'm hoping it is INFI. And I will definitely try to get in early on this one.

Wonder how long it'll be before Horn Dog is asked to delete his copy of the pic ...

Dan started the game with the obscured blade. I am not going to delete the pic.
I think it is real.

In all fairness, Dan and Jerry play these games, they should be more careful or reap the consequences.
IMO, in this case, the "consequences" for Dan and Jerry (assuming the S5 is priced right) would be to their benifit in that they will sell BOAT-LOADS of this knife!

On the other hand, I hope the consequences don't backfire on us and we get hit in the face with a HIGH price to balance out the EXTREME demand for this knife.

If the SAR5 with "micarta" handles was $167.00...., I am trying to be hopeful about S5 and S5LE pricing.

I struggle with the squared choil . . .
Me too. The squared choil is obviously a design element that has become a Scrap Yard trademark. But its utility eludes me.

+1

I mentioned before, I think Mudders work well with a functional finger choil as on the Bog Dog and SS4.
My hands actually tend to want to choke up on the mudders for some reason. So, I am fine with a choil on Mudders.
But, the square choils aren't very comfortable IMO and the larger guard on the S5 pushes the finger choil and blade edge further from the handle than I prefer.

I would much rather see the functional finger choil as was on the Bog Dog and SS4.

But, there is SO much else to like about the S5 anyway!

I think the squared choil is fine. It has at least as much utility as Busse's talon hole.

Square choils are definitely not the best option for me. But, they are better than a Talon Hole and WAY better than a Talon Hole combined with a "NON"-functioning sized choil.

I know that there are Dogs of modest means who cannot afford a 5" Busse Combat knife. This S5 will be a chance for them to own a Busse-made knife in INFI. I say, bring it, Dan!

Hmmmm.... Well we HOPE it is priced like a Scrapper! and not like a Busse.

Look at the title of the thread. "where's my broom?" Does anyone really think that Dan accidentally hid the INFI mark because he couldn't find a broom? If it had been 154CM, I doubt that he would have hidden the marking. He meant the pic as a teaser, and look at all the pages it generated with our speculation. The game was on, and congrats to the dog that figured it out first. And having a CG and LE version in INFI makes more sense than in 154CM.
