.... since this thread would be "Worthless Without Pics"!
Also specs help. Jerry didn't provide much, but the blade is apparently 4.875" by .220" thick and full convexed.
The whole knife has the meltdown treatment.
Some things I like.... some things I don't. Most people probably know at least a "couple" things I don't like.
I would rather have much less belly for a SAR knife. To me, a SAR knife implies lots of woods-craft type chores, but a bit more heavy-duty than a typical wood-craft knife. So, I still invision a similar spear point blade, but beafier.
I won't post pics, but quite a few of the SAR guys - especially River-8 offered a lot of input on design and even provided some drawings. Jerry's SAR4 is quite different than the SAR guys' design. I have seen River-8's concept... River-8's concept seems VERY right as a SAR knife to me.
Jerry's SAR4 does have a lot of attention to detail on quite a few things though. ... with a blade shape more similar to the VERY popular B1's - which isn't a bad thing. People love that knife for a reason.
Still... once I get around to doing some mods to my SAR5, I likely prefer my SAR5. Although, the handle does look intrigueing and possibly a joy to hold. I probably need to hold it to know (????).
The SAR4 does look nicely finished. But, I suppose that is the LE which will no doubt be quite pricey.
