I'm glad to see someone finally making a rounded off spine. I have a custom Jack Crain Commando (from the Governators movie of the same name), just cause at the time I was single and didn't have a hollow handle version) and had him round off the spine. If you've never used one, WHAT A DIFFERENCE! It don't hurt you hand/fingers and don't chew up your baton as bad, just more or less dents it somewhat. Wish more makers would do this.

the rounded spine doesnt do much for me. i like square spines to use on my firesteel (one reason i dont like coatings).
my guess is the SAR4 will cost like $250....at least. way too much for me for just one small knife. bring the S5s

I read somewhere that the jimping (?) would throw sparks pretty good, also for those that want to use their knife for a sparker, they, or, the company could square off the sides of the choil cut out and that might work.

I really like both the Scrapper 5 and the SAR4, I have a SAR5 and love it. I will have the see the price to see if it is 1, 2, or 3 knives coming in the mail....

I like the SAR4 better than the HG55, but considering how many knives I already have in that size class (ADs, BADs, SAR5s, HC LEs, various Mutts...) it doesn't sing loud enough for me to bring it home. Now that S5, on the other hand, I'm hearing it loud and clear.

The number of knives I have in that class are exactly why I am in danger of owning both.. I love the <=5 inch blade... I already own the YK, ScrapMuk, BAD, Sar5, DM, Leaner Meaner, MudPuppy, and HC LE. None of this will phase me from adding to the small EDC knife obsession...
I guess lucky for me I don't have a big blade obsession. The largest Bussekin knife I own is the Yard Guard. Although there are several starting to call for me...

I, myself, like the squared choil better too. never thought about using it on my fire steel, but will try that the next time out. Thanks.

ive used all my uncoated blades as a striker for my firesteel. you get a bit of residue but it rubs right off. but really strikers are cheap and can be put anywhere...i just like to know i COULD do something if need be.

Shouldn't it cost some less than the HG55? The CG was 257? I'd think the SAR4 CG would be 220???
