I have a SIG P220, so if the XD trigger is comparable to that, it would be just fine with me. Thinking these were all DAO is all that has kept me away from the XDs. I like firepower. Maybe after my finances recover from Blade, I'll get one.
Gun sales are still strong here.

vic would this (If you liked the XD enough to get it) be your first polymer frame handgun?! (fullsize handgun at least)
I say you go for it!

I still don't know what my first handgun should be.

I'm thinking the ruger sp 101 in .327 federal mag.
With the .327 I can shoot .32 H&R magnum, .32 S&W long and .32 S&W for cheaper plinking and the .327 for more defensive purposes.
Recently some people were talking about common ammunitions drying up (.38, 9mm .45 etc) so hopefully with this I would always have some availability (in whatever round it may be) if that does happen.
It's also an affordable, accurate, reliable gun, thats relativley light and easy to shoot. (low recoil, but I may get a trigger job on it)

Also I like the sti 9mm.

It has everything I want in a 9mm at the right price.

We all have our ways. I don't even like to fire my revolvers double action. I shoot so much better shooting single action. Every handgun I own has a hammer and can fire single action except my Kel-tec, which I can't hit anything at all with unless it is big and close. I sometimes pratice double action at close range with it and my revolvers. Beyond 10 yds, forget it.

A finely tuned revolver with a reputable trigger job can be more accurate in double action--at least for me. I rarely shoot my revolvers in SA unless it is my SAA. I don't know why but I do prefer a revolver for shooting.

Yes, except for my little Kel-Tec .380. I think I'd feel safer carrying a knife than that little thing. It shoots, but where the bullets go is fairly random. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

eatingmuchface, good luck finding those rounds in a pinch. I like stuff I can buy at Wal-Mart. 357 and 38 special are interchangeable and both can be found at Wally World.

If you want something cheap to shoot 9mm is a good bet. STI makes great guns, which one are you looking at?

I won't trust that gun, I have better chance throwing a fastball. Atleast my arm is reliable
