Man I miss that magazine!!! I used to get it all the time, I've got several years of it saved in a box. I still enjoy going through those back issues from time to time. I was a little more than 11 myself...

I wish I would have had the forthought to have kept them. I wish they would bring it back, and do you know when they stopped printing it?

Anyone else like GLOCK's. I bought a G37 at the gun show a couple months ago and I love it, it is my first handgun. Some people don't like .45GAP because they are short, but in fact they are about 10fps faster than a .45ACP in 230 grain rounds. I guess it just depends on what kind of ammo you get. I'll try to post some pics later if I can.

Did somebody say Glock? Don't know how I missed this thread.....

Like HD, I like my sig 2 tone p220. But the trigger reach is a tad to long for me without holding it in a sort of twisted grip. Now my Customized 1911a1 and my springfield V10 ultra compact is NICE. but my favorite carry piece is my Sig P225 single stack 9mm that I had customized SEVERAL years ago by John Quintrall out in Kali. Later on when I get a chance I'll post some Pics of my handguns.

Holy crap! What a small world. I work with John Q. he is no longer gunsmithing. We were just talking about his tools just sitting in storage. I can't believe I never saw this post before.

Hey Skunkhunter thanks for the PM reminding me I need to get on here more .... and seasons greetings to you and yours too .... since I was last on here and looking at the current posts it was nice to see this one brought back .... and fortunately I have something to post ....

Here in the UK whilst pistols for most types of shooting are illegal you can still own a pistol for the lawful dispatch of Deer ( basically to avoid using a high power rifle in circumstances where it may be dangerous or cause damage .... examples being terminating a Deer which has been hit by a car on the road if called out to do so .... where a rifle round would leave a big hole in the tarmac ) so the moderated Ruger .22 is able to be held for this .... but to shoot C/F pistols in a club would mean shooting at a "heritage centre" and even then old obscure calibres .... things like a Broom Handled Mauser in 7.63 or an old 1911 chambered in .455 Webley supplied under contract for the Navy .... these sort of pistols are still allowed but have to be kept "on site".
Too valuable often to put a lot of rounds through this sort of shooting has never appealed to me .... and therefore to shoot competitive C/F Pistols you have to shoot abroad.

I have tried to keep this up and since the pistol ban over here kept my competition pistol in Switzerland for European Competitions .... for many years I used a 9mm Sig P210 for this which I had modified for the purpose but the single stack magazine was proving to be a disadvantage so despite being a "tug" on the heartstrings I decided to change my pistol to a more competitive one .... and got a CZ "Czechmate" after meeting the CZ Team when last over there.... done by the Custom Shop at CZ to specific orders this is ready to go straight out of the box for the IPSC Open Division or if altered spec wise to Iron Sights which it comes with to the lower divisions ... got it earlier in the year and it is certainly enabling me to do better ....

Here is the "blurb" on the pistol for those interested ....

CZ 75 TS CZECHMATE

The CZ 75 TS Czech mate in cal. 9mm Luger is the latest addition to the Tactical Sports family of pistols designed especially for sport shooting according to the rules of IPSC, the Open Division. This pistol represents an absolute zenith, not only by precision of fit and finish, but also by a wide range of accessories available directly in its standard version. The handgun is custom-built; therefore the quality of workmanship is fully comparable with race pistols built directly to IPSC shooters wishes. Individual parts and components are excellently match fitted, broke-in and tested. Every handgun is outfitted with a four-port compensator, nut for shooting without a compensator, the slide stop with an extended finger piece, the slide stop without a finger piece, ergonomic grip panels from aluminum with a new type pitting and side mounting provision with the C-More red dot sight. For the shooting without a red dot sight there is included a standard target rear sight of Tactical Sports type, package contains also the front sight. The Czech mate is a real top among sporting handguns, now available for
anyone interested in sport shooting.
