So why are we comparing the Scrapper 5 with the 4" HRLM? The SY equivalent would be the Yard Keeper. I am anxious to compare the S5 to the Ratmandu.

+1!

i just wonder if the use of gloves maybe has something to do with the Res-C smoothing out?

I think the RMD will have better balance than the S5.

Either way, I will buy whatever they grace us with here.

Enjoy every sandwich.

I find a slightly weight forward balance preferable in nearly all my knives. It seems to make them easier to use for just about everything. Oddly enough, its what makes the S6 seem like a smaller knife.

My G10 RMDs are definitely handle heavy and I don't find that an especially desirable attribute in an outdoor knife.

RMD,HRLM....same thing.i always thought of the HRLM as a 5in blade but you have a point.

the fact that they're the same steel is the important part to me.

it kind of brakes down to which do people prefer.....SR101 w/RES-C
or SR101 w/MICARTA.
