I passed on the M9 LE but I would give serious consideration to a M9CG.

I personally like the Swamprat knives the best of all the Busse family but I think they have lost their niche in the market.
They origionally came about to provide a tough as hell knife for army types and hunters etc that's wallets could not extend to the INFI Busse line, however their prices have risen such now that you might as well pay a few more bucks and get a Busse or save some money and get a Scrapyard !!!!

I think the Swamp will be back strong with the Rodent series that is coming out.

I think that the Swamprat knives do offer the best overall performance of the
3 lines all things considered however, having the Yard bring the S5 out in
SR101 has changed that a bit.
If Dan brings out more models in SR101, AND continues to offer the bigger
knives in SR77, then I would think that the Swamps days are numbered.

Having the S5 being ready to be offered, I canceled my M9 order the other day.
The job market in my field is going a little soft, and I need to pull back on
expensive purchases.
By the time the exchange rate (I live in Canada), shippng, taxes, duties,
etc...got into the act, I couldn't justify the cost. $248USD was going to be
over $450CDN. The M9 is nice, but not that nice.

As it is, I'm going in with friends on the S5 in order to save on shipping
costs.

Cheers

Although it's probably been said 1000 times, even if they stepped back and reissued some knives- that would be great!

Who could resist the ratweiler, Camp Tramp, howling rat, rat hunter, dog skinner, bog dog (we're covered now! ), battle rat etc...

They could open up a new production site!

Oh well, nice to dream...

The slow creep upward in swamp prices is a bit worrisome. Honestly I prefer rubberized handles to g10/micarta, and the balance of hidden tang knives tends to be a bit more to my liking, especially in smaller knives. I just really hope the yard keeps getting SR101.

I would love to see the swamp ramp up production a bit, and start skeletonizing handles for slbetter balance. And maybe drop their prices a touch

A quick Swamp question ...Does Jerry do those designs? I thought so,but the way the Busse section of bladeforum..."talks about" (I'm trying to be diplomatic) the other Bussekin makes me wonder. Couple folks were knocking comment i made on the RMD and somebody else with the S6! I don't get it...

Busse and Swamp Rat have distinct areas on the boards but there is nothing for the Yard at Bladeforums.com. Most folks on the Busse board talk about all three as "Busse-kin" but a few Hogs are a bit territorial and nip at the Rats and Dogs when they get near the trough.

I know that I talk about all three on all the Busse-kin boards and don't want to stop anytime soon.

It would greatly help if Eric would actually post there. He does more typing to correct infractions on bladeforums then he has in quite a while at either of the swamp rat forums. When he does actually post its to put in a pic with very little verbedge and he does not seem inclined to answer questions, perhaps he is just tired of it all. I hope they are not gone as I think that, differentially tempered, SR101 is a match for SR77 and INFI in terms of toughness and has great edge holding.

Yeah, the picture with no comment thing confused me too. Seems like it wouldn't take much effort to type out "hey guys check out this badass picture of the knife that we will be shipping in 2018"
