When I was a kid I was hiking around the base of the mountain, under the carving, and got stuck in the mud.

Do they still do that Gondola ride to the top of Stone Mountain? I remember I used to love that growing up.

Yeah they still do the gondola - I always stick to the hike up though. It's a nice relaxing hike when I'm too tired to do serious climbing or hiking.

It is a great hike, that's why I didn't know if the Gondola was still around because I have not ridden it since I was a kid.

Some of the side trails are pretty nice too. I like to take my dogs and hike the loop trail in the woods around the mountain.
