Recon, your exaggerating to much. I'm trying to find this pic of a rat cutlery knife that's been used hard everyday in the wet jungle. Sure, they are rust prone then other Busse steel, but it's not as bad as you make it sound. I've left my 1095 steel knife wet in it's sheat for weeks. Besides some surface rust that comes right off, the knife is not affected.
No worries, MRpink. We're all keenly aware of Recon's agenda to make SR101 appear to be inferior to SR77 in one aspect or another. Those of us who know better have learned to ignore it.

Not sure I get WHY someone would have such an agenda, but his enthusiasm for his chosen favorites is certainly a bit overwhelming when you first come to the yard. I'm glad I read a few others' opinions before I trusted his, as he seems to be the only one on the planet that thinks SR77 is the best knife steel in the history of the universe

Love it.

It's not us I'm worried about, there are a lot of new people here as well as lurkers who aren't registered and might be scared off.

I'm no expert either, but I do USE all my knives. I know recon only wants to buy brand new/unused knives, that makes me question whether he has ever used any of his, I try and speak from experience. Recon, not bashing on you bro! I think you are the most hardcore scrapyyard/sr-77 fan! Just trying to show a different point of view.

I say score your brother one. He'll beat the snotz out of and it will ask for more. It is a knife meant to be used...hard!

Watch it there Horned One! ...........................................

I thought that was a compliment, Tom! When it absolutely, positively has to be destroyed overnight, call the Marines.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

The Camp Tramp story ought to be enough to convince anyone that SR101 is tough enough. Unless you have a masters degree, of course.
