It was my brother's day off, and coincidentally, his turn to cook the "good meal". He called from the local market to say there was a sale on beef tenderloins, and to insure that I would be home tonight to eat.

His choice of mean this evening, Steak au poivre with garlic cheddar mashed potatoes and Maine lobster cakes.

We begin with the tenderloin-

He was excited because he got to use his Scrapyard Knife Co. Muk for the first time...

A stack of filets...(some are in storage)

Seasoned with the pepper medley

Served on toasted French bread rounds with a cream peppercorn sauce (avec le Courvosier), cheddar garlic mashed potatoes, and Maine Lobster cake. Beverage was Arrogant Bastard Ale.

Accoutrements-
Gewehr 43, AC 44 code (Walther) Etra mags stoked with Greek PCH 1940 7.92 ammo
Luger P-08, BYF41 code (Mauser), FXO mag loaded with WWB 124 grain, extra ornamental ammo is 1943 dated German 9mm in original packaging.
Knife-The aforementioned Scrapyard Knife Company Scrap Muk.

Oh...nice level of doneness as well....

Dessert hasn't been served yet, but I'll snap a pic when it is.

Not always...I just don't post pictures of nights when I'm eating Stouffer's out of the freezer or doctoring up Top Ramen <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

But thanks!
