Never tried to start one of these so let’s see if it works.
Since the thickness of the S5 is still not 100% “fo sho,” let’s hear what you would like to see.

I will take a preemptive strike at the inevitable “forth” option of “I don’t care,” or “I’ll buy one either way” as we all know that many of us have already ordered one or several blades with this spec left somewhat unknown. So this is just for fun and to see if maybe just maybe the results could sway our benevolent knifemaker!

You must vote in order to see the results.

I voted for 3/16 but .165 would be fine also. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I voted 3/16 because that's what I think it will be but it doesn't really matter because I would buy one anyways.

Is it likely the LE will be thinner than the CG?

Is it likely the LE will be thinner than the CG? I'm not sure but I think they are thinner, they would have to be without the blade coating.

I'm hoping it's .165"
That's right between 3/16" & 5/32", my two favorite thickness (so far) for knives these size.

I will be happy with my already ordered S5 either way. However, I prefer the thicker blades for nothing other than the cool factor. | | |

I went with " skinny"- but don't really care @ 100 bucks each. Hell of a deal !! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I think they should be .275" stock.. If you want to actually cut stuff you don't buy Busse-kin (unless you live near to Horndog!), Mora's cut stuff, Busse-kin beat trees or concrete blocks to death!
(I'm happy to retract this if Dan assures me they have retrained or dragged out and shot the bloke at the factory who can't grind edges with an inclusive angle of less than about 70 degrees!) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Seriously though, the 3/16" seems ideal for this kind of knife.. (Even better in INFI) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" />

I voted for 3/16" (.1875"). But I'd be happy with .165" if that's what the thickness turns out to be. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> Right on Brother! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

In a less-than-6" blade I prefer thin. It makes for a better slicer, and a shorter blade is not really going to be good for chopping, no matter HOW thick it is!
