Hope this ok to post here (since i'm mentioning a Company name....)

ICE Tactical is a local Burnaby, BC Canada company, that makes some pretty innovative and BOMBER gear. A bunch of our CDN Forces crew are using this gear right now and the feedback is very positive.

i like their warranty too!

'should one of our products fail due to a defect in materials or workmanship, we will repair or replace it free of charge for the lifetime of the product. All of our products are manufactured in Burnaby BC under strict quality control."

anyways, thats the Bio, here what caught my eye recently.....

a bomber tarp, that packs down tiny. Simple construction, yet extremely well made and sewn. Looking at the pouch it would fit nicely on my chest rig belt.....

I will be picking one up VERY SOON and giving it a good workout in our pissy wet WET Coast woods, and post up a review.

When i was chilling with the dealer, he mentioned that the owner of ICE tactical is very open to other colors and camo patterns too.... nice!

but seriously, that tarp looks nice and i especially like the camo color... thats where the WxTex tarps lack.. they are bright yellow, but when it comes to waterproofness and materialship.... nothing touches them, but you are going to pay for them!!!

Rather than do that, I'd MUCH RATHER order any tarps from Brian at OES

http://www.outdoorequipmentsupplier.com

He makes each tarp custom to order, and will add tieouts wherever you want, and make whatever size tarp you want, out of whatever materials you want. Hard to beat that.

He's been making tarps out of spinntex fabric, which is obnoxiously lightweight and crazy waterproof. WAY WAY more waterproof than treated cordura nylon, which can mist-through, and even more waterproof than silicone impregnated nylon.

I have an 11x10 silnylon tarp from OES that packs smaller and weighs less than most 8x10 tarps you'd find at a decent outdoors store.

^ so will these guys! they thrive on custom orders. Plus they are literally a few blocks away (no Customs fees, Duties, wait)

EDIT: i retract the Custom orders part.....they are not taking custom orders at this time...this may chainge

The URL in my original post was incorrect - it should be http://www.outdoorequipmentsupplier.com/

I've gone back and fixed it, but it's still messed up in the quotes.

spinntex, silnylon, whats next cuben fiber packs!??!?! Ti shepherds hooks and pots?!!

i like tarps but id still probably go with a tarptent design. i hardly ever misuse my tents/tarps enough to warrant their warranty.

BUT, if i lived in somewheres really wet and went camping alot i might get one or id get a lightweight tent with a tub floor. it all depends.

for now i sitck with my intergral designs poncho/tarp!!! has the same stitching as the OES but not totally exact patterns/materials just stitching.

also i seam sealed mine....it is VERY water resistant!
