I didn't vote for either, because I'm only interested in the LE version if it's in INFI. I've got an S5CG on order and already own a Mud Puppy LE in 154CM and a S6CG and Yard Keeper CG in SR77. So, if I get an INFI S5LE, I'll be done.
Yeah, right!

I voted 154 but I must be truthful, give me SR-77 over both any day
338, it just rolls off the tongue.

Quite a poll, Bruce. I have an idea for a simpler one based on the results of this market survey.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I think the SR-101 is a tougher steel for sure, but the 154CM I have from The Yard is light years away from my 154CM from Microtech.Benchmade,Piranha and even customs. The Dan Busse "whammy" on it Seems to make it as tough as SR-77!! I can't chip a edge on this stuff. I get micro fractures but all touch up in just moments. It stays sharp forever and well after EDCing the load of Scrap Stainless I have...sold.
It takes a keen satin finish, can be made tougher than Doziers D-2. And the edge and upkeep are a joy to own. Great stuff!
Peace.

I also have had great results with 154. I believe that ATS is pretty much the same as 154 and I have several customs made out of this. I might be missing something here so I will ask. If someone wanted an LE made out of 101 couldn't they merely strip the black duracoat and buff it up like Vic and others do ? The coating comes off via the directions we have seen posted many times or someone like Vic or others could maybe do this for you ? I have several Rangers that I have had stripped and then new scales and spacers put on to make a semi custom that I like . The steel is 5160 so maybe that makes a differance ? Is 101 different and this doesn't work ? In the end I don't care if the LE comes in INFI or 154 as I like the design- plus I really like the pricing on these knives !! The SY steel is a great bargain in my opinion . I can buy 3-4 S5s for what I pay for just one custom. Keep up the great work guys !! Thanks

I am hoping for Infi, but will settle for 101. On the size of the S5 I think 154 CM is pushing it--but then we are talking Busse 154 CM and not some other companies.

Wow, I'm surprised that more people didn't go for the Busse improved 154CM. I wasn't really a fan of the metal myself, until I saw what Dan could do with it! Honestly, if it was a choice of either SR101 or 154CM... as nice as the 101 is, I'd still choose the 154. It may be hard to reprofile and/or sharpen, but man, does it ever keep an edge for stainless! They'd become my new kitchen/camp knives in an instant! I might even throw away my high end Japanese steel Santokus, because I'd only have to sharpen the S5s every blue moon!

Maybe we'll get lucky and Dan will offer both

If it is not INFI I would be rather unlikely to purchase one either way. I would be more inclined to purchase the 154cm version if it is made of CPM-154 instead of the normal version. I do not like large grain sized steels.

Is Dans 154 better than say....Benchmades??? I like 154 ,but as far as toughness has to go to SR101 , 77 and INFI. Now I've heard S30V forged is comparable to Sr101 for edge holding and toughness.
