Very good pics - sry you had all the rain. I really want a Birddog now. I'm looking for a good all-around fishing knife and that seems to be the one. Where can I find one and how much are they? If I can't find one I'm going to have to go with a Falkniven or Spyderco alternative.

What kind of mountain bike is that? I live in FL but I'm a fairly avid mountain biker here and just recently purchased a new one.

dude, you pack like I do bro, wife gives me so much grief for taking so much gear but I would rather have it and not need it then the other way around. That said, I just explain that the beer/guns/knives are what are taking so much room, she then rolls her eyes and walks away in disgust
cool pics so far bro, keep em coming

I grew up with a car camping / RVing family, and that's how we were - we packed so much crap, and camping was pretty much like living at home but in a different place.

Now, even when I car-camp, I try to pack everything in a 65L backpack, and maybe throw in a cooler and some firewood since the car will be nearby. Most of the time I don't even bother with those.

It's amazing how comfortably you can be, even with a severely lightened load, once you get used to it. Stuff like giant coleman folding stoves and camp chairs just aren't needed when you figure out how to work around them.

The only place you can get a Bird Dog now is the aftermarket. I don't know what they are running there.

I've had the mountian bike for some time now. It still serves me well. It is an entry level "Giant".

Bird dogs are a bit tough to come by - I lucked out and got a GREAT deal on a user with a nice sheath. Should be here tomorrow or Thursday.

You're right MustardMan. You should be able to take everything you need in a 30 pound pack, but since I was taking the truck anyway and working out of a base camp I loaded up.

Sounds like an interesting and eventful trip, Jack. I'm sure it still beat being at work.

Gun laws are pretty liberal here. You can get a 10 year carry permit here.

Interesting you should mention that Jeff. My fishing buddy said that the worst day fishing was no longer better than the best day working. Of course his tent got a lot wetter on the inside than mine did. For me it still beat being at work.
