Interesting you should mention that Jeff. My fishing buddy said that the worst day fishing was no longer better than the best day working. Of course his tent got a lot wetter on the inside than mine did. For me it still beat being at work. This is why I've switched over completely to hammock camping - I stay nice and dry when I'm suspended a few feet off the ground, away from the puddles 2 words... SEAM SEAL i got a $80 tent that lasted through a 8 hr rainfall in FL...by the end it was hard to tell if it was wet from condensation or outside rain. also if you know it might rain then find a better spot. like they say in real estate: location location location!

Archangel, we were on the other side of the lake from the dam. I have a Rainwalker pouch sheath for the SOD. I don't have a picture of it at the moment. I'll try to post you one tomorrow.

Jackell, great pics. Even though you had a lot o rain it sounds like you still had a good time.
I know when I was growing up we did not do a lot of camping because my grandparents had a place at the lake, but I was the kid that would throw a tent up and stay in it instead of their house. Oh how I wish they were still with us and down there at their place.
I guess for my quest of a BDLE is going to increase. I like it for the looks, then I started reading HD's post on it, and now you torment me with it LOL.
Thanks agian for sharing your trip.

I'm 51 but still enjoy camping in a tent. Most of my freinds have outgrown staying in a tent and think I'm crazy.....and they're right but that is another issue

That's one of the really great things about the Yard Simon. All the Dogs sharing their little adventures. I've always enjoyed the ones you post. My mouth waters when I see a new review Horndog has posted

Any trip camping and fishing is a good one. One year we had a huge storm blow through collapsing several tents and leaving standing water everywhere. After that I went out and bought the best tent consumer reports recommended for waterproof. It has not rained hardly at all on my trips since.
