Come to Oklahoma sometime. We have a lot of great places to go camping. I'll even load up and go with you if I can make the timing work. I don't need much of an excuse to go camping

Interesting you should mention that Jeff. My fishing buddy said that the worst day fishing was no longer better than the best day working. Of course his tent got a lot wetter on the inside than mine did. For me it still beat being at work. This is why I've switched over completely to hammock camping - I stay nice and dry when I'm suspended a few feet off the ground, away from the puddles

I haven't fished and camped with my children since they grew up and moved out. Interestingly they both have shown an interest in going again. I'll be setting up a trip with them as soon as we can work out the dates.

MM, I thought the hammock pictures you posted a week or so ago were pretty neat. What kind of hammock do you use. I might have to try one sometime.

I use a Warbonnet Blackbird - it's hand-made in the US by a one-man show working out of his garage. I always like supporting cottage businesses like that whenever I can His website is http://www.warbonnetoutdoors.net There is a bit of a learning curve with hammock camping - figuring out how to pitch tarps, how to hang the hammock, and how to keep your backside warm with the wind whipping underneath it might take a couple of nights. But once you've got it figured out, sleeping on the ground will seem downright primitive

Too bad about the rain and the poor fishing. At least you did discover just how handy and useful the BDLE is. I love mine.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I should also mention how well the Rainwalker kydex sheath preformed. I put it on every morning and didn't take it off until I went to bed. All day wear for four days and it was never uncomfortable, the knife never slipped out and the knife was always easy to remove and resheath. Thanks, Jeff

My fishing buddy just emailed me and asked if everything was dried out. I told him yes and I was ready to go again. I'll spare the Yard what he called me

My BDLE stayed wet for four days on this trip. For that reason I'm glad it was 154CM. I wouldn't mind seeing the Scrapper 5 LE offered in 154CM.
