Forgive my lack of knowledge about these things. What does the offset edge do for you?

crash axe is SR77.

I don't need to add, but correct. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that the Crash Rat was made from SR-77, and was in fact the first product to use the steel (well before the Yard existed). Am I confusing my history here? I could have sworn that's what I read.

Correct. However, I wouldn't say "well" before the Yard existed.

Scrap Yard came into existance pretty much right after the Crash Axe was introduced and sold.

So, what, like Two Weeks afterwards? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Okay, I stand corrected on the Crash Axe. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> Regardless, my comparisons' were done between the Chopweiler (Which definitely is SR101) and our favorite ScrapYard Choppers, like the SOD and DFLE.

I tell ya, you make one little error, and the dawgs are all over ya! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I'll take 2...The SOD is my favorite mid size blade. Imagine S5 choices with mudders in SR101....WOW...good idea...Thanks in advance Dan.

Not to bring up an old topic but I still think that The best camp knife will be the SOD in SR101 format. It will probably never happen but one can hope <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />.

JYD #84 This is my rifle, and that is my SHTF Busse knife.

Now that I have a Waki, my Swamp/Scrap Ruck is satisfied. Jerry did VERY good with the Waki!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" /> .... (although, now, to compliment my Waki, I would like a 9" & 13" Tanto version with shorter handles. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" />)

But, I still want the Scrapweiler Concept in Differentially heat treated SR-101! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" />

And I still would like a MEGA-Muk and smaller Muk in SR-101, but I like these two in micarta. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" />

[Linked Image from i80.photobucket.com]

And I still like the "Rat Jack Concept" in SR-101 based on the RMD's handle with just a bit longer and taller blade (very similar in shape to the S5's blade or slightly smaller Satin Jack's blade), but no thicker than the RMD (0.189") or S5 (0.185") - and just a bit longer/larger in blade - say 1/2" - 3/4" longer and about 1/8"-3/16" taller in the middle to accomodate the arched spine. Just a bit different to offer variety now that I have the S5. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> ....

**** and I would "WISH" for a skeletonized handle to cut handle weight. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

[Linked Image from i80.photobucket.com]

All in SATIN SR-101 of course! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

.
