It's a horrible irony that a nine inch blade is illegal in a country where one of there cities, Dalian, is often referred to as "Steel City" because of all the sword factories!
yes,i konw here have many foreign blade OEM factories, but their products can't be sold to Chinese domestic market.

I just don't get it.

You have my condolences my friend.

KG-
You are correct but people (sheeple) are starting to wise up and so are some states. I heard that recently Montana filed papers with the government stating that they would hold to their states constitutional rights for it's people and that they would not let Federal retraction of constitutional rights affect their citizens...In other words - they told the government that if they start taking away peoples constitutional rights - the state of Montana would not respect those changes. Hell Yeah! The states of Utah and Texas (Go Texas!) are following suit and taking even stronger positions with Texas filing for Sovereignty. This is the beginning of what needs to happen to pull in the reigns of this crazy government. I believe that states have this right according to Amendments 6 and 7 of the constitution...That's what I believe I heard anyway. Glenn Beck calls this the beginning of the "civil" civil war that is going to happen. He also had a judge on his show that said he expects this to pass even if it goes to the Supreme Court. Let's hope and pray that it does.

Sorry Lachine... maybe a barrage of shipments would yield at least one knife to you.

Anyways, to those of us here in the US... "Keep on rockin' in the 'Free' world!"

Sadly, most people don't realize there is no such thing as a lethal weapon, only lethal intent.

To judge a tool as a weapon simply because those with lethal intentions would use it as such is infuriating. Those with lethal intentions could just as easily use a pencil, a fork, a chopstick, or a snapped off branch from a tree. Should we outlaw all these things as well?

Again, I am sorry that you were uable to take this very beautifully crafted tool home, and use it as the camping accessory you no doubt would have used it for. I pray that someday, the laws will change so that you are given more freedom in your choice of tools.

Well stated Tyger. I have never understood the banning of certain items because they can kill but not other items that can just as easily kill. As Lachine stated, chefs knives and butcher knives are perfectly okay....we all know those can't kill 'people'...only food and dead meat. I also don't understand why a 4" blade is legal but not a 5" in some states...why assisted opens are fine but not autos..etc. etc. It all boils down to the person holding it and their intent as you have stated. If someone wanted to, they could become a serial killer with nothing more than a hammer..then what? Ban those?

Very similar for firearms but I'll stop here.
