I'm truely sorry to hear about your loss lachine. It is a sad world when you can't own a knife for whatever reasons. Maybe some day the rules there will change.

It's a horrible irony that a nine inch blade is illegal in a country where one of there cities, Dalian, is often referred to as "Steel City" because of all the sword factories! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Here its mostly a power play. Those who want power and want to limit what others can do to take it away, crouch their power grabs in terms of helping people. The current debate in congress, although no longer called, "The Fairness Doctrine" is nothing more then trying to limit the opposing point of view.
'Conservative' content sells radio advertising because people want to listen to it. Instead of allowing people to sell and listen to what they like they are now arguing that for 'diversity' and to protect the rights of minorities they need to limit the amount of conservative talk on the radio. Do they care to make the same for liberal talk and tv? nope, that isn't a problem even though its the same situations in reverse.
We need to get rid of guns for 'the children' and then knives 'for the children'. I wonder when people will want limits on the size of branches because clubs have killed more people in history then guns or bullets ever could have.
