where is the Blade show located ? thanks~R

RT - the Blade show is in the Cobb Galleria, way up in the northwest corner of the Atlanta area, almost in Marietta. Just off I-75 and I-285 junction, it's really easy to get to from the airport, etc. In fact, the past couple of years I stayed at an extended-stay motel in Smyrna which is just three miles away. Great location and LOTS less expensive! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Wish I could go. Sounds like a good time. Maybe next year.

Just a reminder for those that are flying to Blade; there is a UPS Store just down the road from the Cobb Galleria. I think it's much safer to ship your knives home via UPS than to risk them getting lost via the airlines! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Last year, mine arrived home just two days later, all safe and sound! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

You can send them Priority Mail too. Don't know how close a Post Office is though.

The Post Office is close too - just across the Cobb Parkway in the Cumberland Mall. USPS priority mail is good for a couple of blades, but if you buy a lot of them - like I did last year - then it's cheaper to go with UPS. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> In fact, I shipped knives to a few fellow Dogs from the Post Office last year and they received them with no problems. I just don't have much faith in the airlines! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

I have only been to one other Blade Show. That was in 2007 and even though I left Saturday on that one (AC was out in my hot hotel room), it was great fun and impressed me. Now with my limited Blade experience, I can't say if 2009 was the best ever, but it was awesome. It was huge. I can't imagine it being any better than it was. And the Busse Knife Group sure knows how to treat their customers. Great free food and free beer. Of course there were the secret cult rituals that I cannot divulge, but I don't know when I ever had a better time with better folks. If you can afford to, make Blade 2010 your next vacation.
