That's an interesting idea, Jim - what if the "SR" came first, and then Swamp Rat was named to use those letters? HMMMMMMM...

It did come first.

The Ground troop is indeed the Busse Taliwacker. This picture was taken right after 9/11 and these were the Taliwackers that were given to the Military by Busse Combat. This was really the first "Swamp Rat" although it was really before Swamp Rat was in business. It was officially produced by Busse Combat, but it has the same features that were later Swamp Rat. (ie SR101 steel, Resiprene C handle, no talon hole) There were a limited number of these released to the public, the only difference is that the civilian ones were lasered with "Taliwacker" (as in Taliban wacker)

We discussed the taliwacker already

the question is, did they actually CALL it sr101 back then, or did the name come after the formation of swamp rat??

Andy - thanks for the Tali-Whacker link! I remembered that there was VERY few made available to the public, making them a genuine rarity. Makes me appreciate mine even more, and I got it for less on the secondary market!

I though it was for "Super Refrigerated" since I read somewhere that they let their stuff sit at -300F for a few days to relieve all of the stresses in the steel making it a "super-alloy".
