[color:"#666666"] or trailmaster [/color]
UH OH! Now ya gone and dun it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> I used to like the trailmaster quite a lot - but I like the feel in hand of the M9 better. We'll see if I like it as much when I'm actually out using it. My biggest complaint about the trailmaster is the same as my complaint about the LTC kukri - I am not a fan of kraton handles. I like Kraton okay, it was the fact that you could twist the handle around and eventually pull the handle off that led me to sell mine. I would take a Mora, Victorinox Huntsman, and either a Dogfather or FBM depending on how much walking I was going to do with it.
Be prepared.......It is more than a motto it is a way of life.

depends. my bushcraft kit knife is 3V, but my k-muk is 1095. i've never used or carried the muk once, which is a shame since it has that nice quick draw sheath.

I was sure I had posted in this thread... but I can't find my post. Maybe I only thought I did. Too much drinking?
Anyway, my large blade choice is a toss-up between my NMSFNO and my M9LE. 2nd blade would be the Scrapper 5 (I'm pretty sure it will take this spot when I get it). And my third blade is a multi-tool.

Usually, I would actually only carry one fixed blade. It might even be a machete, depending on where I'm going. But I usually carry two folders, one small SAK Recruit and one locking type. When I get my combo sheath for the M9LE and HCLE, then I could carry two fixed blades and a SAK in my pocket. For my last swamp trip I carried my DFLE, Rat Trap, and SAK OHT. I should have left the Rat Trap at the house. With the locking blade on the OHT, all I really need is one big fixed blade, like the NMSFNO, DFLE, M9LE, machete or even the SARsquatch. Since I normally pack a revolver, I just don't want to carry too much extra steel. Two knives really should be enough, a big one for chopping and machete work, and a folder for more delicate work.
