Hey everyone, I wanted to ask a quick question regarding the blade show. Do older SY's ever show up (ie. S6, YH, YG, DM), or is it mostly new stuff? I have never been so I thought I might ask the Dogs...thanks

It's kind of like a box of chocolates . . . you never know what you're going to get. Forest gump =]

I can't speak about Blade, but older models often arrive at Know Creek (in very limited quantities); sometimes in colors that were never otherwise released.

Rarely, in 07 I think there were a couple of dogfathers and about a dozen dumpster mutts. In 08 there was a bunch of tan yardkeepers and the color was new but none of the older styles. It does appear that Knob Creek with its military folks get a lot more Scrap Yard variants than the Blade show folks (what is up with that Dan!?!). I am definately going to Knob Creek soon.
As a matter of fact i just cleared those dates in October (9,10,11) on my calender!!!!

Hey sorry Jim, but what is Know Creek? Knob Creek is a Bi-Annual gun shoot in Kentucky. It's the 'other' big show for all of us. I have never attended, but it seems it is more basic/raw. A lot of older knives seem to show up there. I'm PMing you back (on BF) right after this post, by the way.
Enjoy every sandwich.

I'm really hoping some older scrap yard knives show up at BLADE - I'm especially jonesing for a SOD or DM. I have some big, beefy knives, but nothing really in the "Sharpened prybar" category, and I'd like to expand my horizons.

Hey sorry Jim, but what is Know Creek? I mistyped Knob Creek; there's a Spring and a Fall machine gun shoot at the range, and Busse Combat sets up a booth to sell Busse Combat, Swamp Rat and Scrap Yard knives (see http://www.machinegunshoot.com/). It's just outside Louisville heading toward Fort Knox.
