While it seems by appearance like it is not a dedicated chopper, I still think that the regulator design will perform pretty good in that capacity. Given the thickness, it will probably hold up to batoning and act like a splitter wedge all at the same time. The tip seems to have a lot of material. It will be interesting to test it out in this capacity. I hope that one of the test team focuses on the chop/baton usage.

If the Regulator becomes available at the online store at the typical bargain CG price, I'll buy at least two Black/Black. Then again, if color combination choices are available as with the S5, I'll have to buy matching Regulators for each...plus one or two Black/Black.

IF I could make changes to the design, I'd put blade catches (like on the Yard Hook) top and bottom just in front of and touching the Resiprene handle. Call it the "Hooked Regulator", maybe?

This looks like a very blade heavy knife. I am unsure whether I really like the tapered tang as it changes the balance. I do like the fact that it weighs less than 15 oz., which is hard to believe with a thickness of .333.

I look forward to the opportunity to purchase one or several.

BJ2 - Howdy and Welcome to the Scrap Yard! I think the Regulator Bowie will be VERY interesting! Different folks have remarked how light it feels in the hand, it's thick enough to be a good splitting wedge for batonning, the tip appears to be very strong, and it could certainly be used defensively.

Just because the Swamp tanked...
....
Hate the facts as you please, they remain the same.

Except, of course, that you are grossly ignorant of the facts.

The swamp just released the incredibly well reviewed M9LE, and one of the hottest and most coveted releases from all three Busse family companies at BLADE this weekend was the Swamp Rat Waki. Lots and lots of the little D2 EDC Vex blades got sold as well.

The Swamp is alive and well, and their fantastic SR101 steel is performing at an amazing level. Go watch the videos of the swamp waki in action if you don't believe it.

Tanked? The swamp is on a roll with some fantastic offerings!

The Swamp did go MIA for too long IMHO.
