I'm chiminig in late here but I figure, better late than never . I love the design of the blade. I've never owned a bowie and this one looks to be a winner...except the thickness. For ME, a blade that thick is unnecessary. If I want a chopper, I'll look for a dog father. I believe the SOD fills the role of "survival" knife for me. I'm still looking forward to the S5 as it is a beautiful design that looks to be very usable. I'm still hoping for a necker. Cheap, but effective and useful

Oh no- PLEASE don't mention " too THICK" or you will piss SEED off . Plus- don't even mention ANY steel EXCEPT SR77 .
Heh heh...just close your eyes L-T when you come up on my post

Good Gawd Bruce that thing is plain UGLY

Think of it this way, Bob. I commute 2.5 miles to work each day. If I had to, I could walk to work. A vehicle that keeps what little rain we get around here off of me, has a 1.7 gallon gas tank that only needs to be refilled two or three times a year, is easy to get in and out of, costs less than a motorcycle to purchase and has a major car manufacturer standing behind it is VERY appealing to me.

I will concede to certain values in "Practical" transportation. If those specs are for real (which I SERIOUSLY doubt), then you have to say that vehicle is VERY practical and worth every penny.

..... But, I am "Passionate" about automobiles like knives. I like FINE cars. And that "UGLY"/Alien car has passion like United Cutlery on wheels. -

Similarly, United Cutlery "things" can cut (with some work sometimes ).

But, I have to go with Toast on this one:

While I can't afford it , .....

..... the new 430 Scuderia is just a freaking awesome car and may take its place as my all time favorite.

If I can get my job/income situation turned around, and since the 430 doesn't seem likely for me , (Maybe if lucky and when devalued over 2-3 years, by 2011 or so?? ) my next semi-practical / wish car is the 2009 Porsche Cayman. There are some very significant improvements in the car for 2009 over the 05'-08' - mainly in transmission. The new double clutch Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) auto transmission is supposed to help the Cayman reach around 4.9 0-60 - faster than standard transmission AND get in the upper 20s in gas mileage (25 to 30+ depending on 2.9 vs. 3.4 liter engine size???) - Pretty DANG good for that level of performance.

I saw one out here in the desert while driving. I was behind it but didn't know which model it was till I saw your post. I have to agree with you, I could not take my eyes off of it! The one I saw was blue and perfect but what got me is that the owner wasn't afraid to brave our crazy traffic or weather. 101 degrees fahrenheit and he had his windows open, go fig?

My bad, it was the F430. I'd take either!

That is the sign of a "true" aficionado appreciating some "INCREDIBLE" Italian Maranello orchestration.

..... I assume he didn't have the radio on either.

"YOU" should have instantly rolled down "YOUR" windows! You missed out.

If you ever come across a Ducati or MV Augusta on the road, roll down your windows as well.

I hope to drive one before I die.... Owning would be better though!

And I hope I am not blind like Lt. Col. Frank Slade when that day comes.

Whoo-ah!!!

The debate is over. The Yard has spoken. Those who wish to continue debating the relative merits of one Bussekin alloy over another may do so until their blue in the face. But it won't change the facts. And nothing anyone says may have any impact on what Dan decides to produce anyway.

Ummm, then what would be the point of a test run for the Regulator?

Yes- I can understand the Khuk- but the Bowie? It kinda makes it appear like pure marketing which I have been receiving many PMs to this effect. The steel is " dead nuts on" - the handle matieial is good to go- the design IMO is lacking. But- I still purcahsed. I am hoping Vic and others will resolve this and make the Bowie even better. I LOVE the Busse Killa Zilla but have mt eye on that " induction model" and also the MOAB for the Ganza . Big deal- so does everyone else !! But I agree with you guys- why the test on the Reg ? Unless Vic and others can come up with something ? I am waiting on my proxy stuff to arrive and maybe then I will know- until then- I am in the same boat as ya'll-Thanks
