I will be there before the doors open for VIP access - I need to get my grubby little hands on a couple of knives.

Still waiting to find out the details on who can purchase the test team Regulator Bowie... (hint, hint)

MRpink, don't you have an AK? I'm guessing you've handled katana's and such based on previous postings and so I'm wondering how the Busse's compare since they don't have the traditional curve used in most one-sided blades.

None of the swords belong to me, they all belong to friends, but I do have a good amount of experience with AKs/Rucks. The Busse swords actually do have a sweep to them, just not as much as traditional swords (pics). I'd be scared to beat on any other sword besides Bussekin swords the way we do, we put it under tremendous force and we trust that it won't fail. I would never test any other sword this way. For what it is, it's light and fast too.

There is rumor that there may be a couple at Blade ...at least that is the rumor but it comes from a rat so who really knows

Dan

that makes me feel a little better because it sounds like they'll be for sale at the store...but you never know with those rats.

Art, another reason why it isn't as curved as other swords is because (I think) of it's length. Compared to traditional swords, they are relatively short.

I'm about 5'5" and you can see they aren't to long.

I have a feeling they will someday. It wasn't looking likely in the past because all the handles they use are single handed and molds from previous swamp rat models, but with the introduction of the new handle for the regulator bowie, I think they'll start experimenting with other handles in the future, which will hopefully mean a two handed res-c sword!

I'll take a two-handed one with a mudder grip! Along with an SR-77 Scutum!

haha, I agree! I said they are shorter then traditional swords, but I never said they weren't perfect. Do you know how much it kills me when I hang out with everyone and everyone owns AKs and Rucks. With the Swamp Rat Rodent Waki, I can finally have my own sword! I just hope they have a affordable CG version at the store.
