Here's a picture roenman posted last month over on BladeForums: Those Moabs are something else .......$2,200....WOW! I would be real hard pressed to pass on one of those.....I can't stop looking at them. That's gotta be one of the meanest knives that Busse Combat has ever produced. Kinda makes a BM look small. Price sure is steep though.

Or maybe I got three of one secret blade. Or six halves of six secret blades We can only speak of these on the secret "test team" forum. BAH! How are we fellow Dogs, Hogs and Rats supposed to live vicariously through the "priviledged" Dogs, Hogs and Rats with all this "SECRET" stuff???? If Jerry, Dan and Eric want to have secret pricing and secret deals for those making the trip, I guess I can appreciate that. But, man.... I want to see pictures and hear details. What is the fun in secrets???? These secret games are NO fun and frustrating. ..... just sayin'! Oh.... by the way, where is the "secret "test team" forum"? .... I'll be needing to know in a few days. .

I like the looks of that Golok Vic. I think we will need a chop off / comparison with it vs. some of your other machetes and the BRKT Golok. Another forum member was telling me about picking up some "new" Condor blade. So, I am curious about what Condor currently has to offer. I have been digging through their website, but would like to hear some reviews. .

I'm personally not a fan of the secret stuff either, but I gave my word when I signed that silly piece of paper, and I stand by my word.
I hope the test team idea pans out, and they get some awesome feedback that really makes these knives even better (and then I get to buy the better ones too )

I don't expect you to break your word MM. I HOPE and EXPECT none of the Dogs, Hogs and Rats around here to break their words and oaths signed.
I am just a little bummed that you guys were required not to share so much.
I REALLY WISH I could have gone!!! But, it just was NOT an option. I am not in a financial situation to justify they LONG drive and accomodations I would have had to pay.
Plus, I had to work Thursday, Friday and Saturday. ... and I STILL need WAY more money.
However, I was very fortunate to be able to get a couple of the cheaper blades proxied by a GREAT fellow Dog/Hog/Rat.
I GREATLY appreciate the fellow Dog/Hog/Rat who helped me on my proxies!!! - You know who you are. THANKS!!!
I don't know if I am "Allowed" to say what one of them is, but I will say that even though I don't know what the price was on the KZ, I know I couldn't afford it.
But, I do have one of those Vex knives coming. It looks pretty sweet to me.
And NOW, I will have to work to save a LOT more funds to pay for S5's and Waki's.

Y'all can take this any way you want to, but Jerry is serious about the test team idea, as is Dan. As Jerry explained to me last night, he has not made kukris before. Making a kukri has been a challenge because he has to use so much wide stock just to get that shape using stock removal. Traditional kukris are forged and beaten into shape by hand. It takes a lot of INFI stock to make just one Busse kukri. And INFI is not cheap. So the challenge is to get the performance and proper balance of of a hand forged kukri in production knife. Jerry honestly wants feedback to tweak the final design some, if necessary. When I asked Dan about a Scrap Yard kukri, the problem of stock width came up. It would cost a lot of money to grind away half the stock to make a kukri, and Dan is committed to high performance at a reasonable cost. Maybe a bolo would be a better idea. And the new bowie has some new features like integral quillion, tapered radiused tang and such. He wants to know how they perform and how they are liked so he can make any necessary changes in the final production model. The knife feels fantastic in the hand, much lighter and faster than you might expect. The folks at Busse, Swamp Rat, and Scrap Yard care about their customers and are just trying a new approach to getting the knives as perfect as possible before going into full production. I think we need to help them out and give this test team idea a chance. And I was only kidding about the test team forum. It doesn't exist. Even if it did, I couldn't talk about it.

KG - I know you weren't asking anyone to break their word - I just know full well how frustrated *I* was when I felt "left out", and have to keep selling myself on the idea.
HD - I'm glad to hear you had good conversations about the test team idea. I'd love to see a SY version of a CS LTC-style kukri. They are saber ground from a fairly thin piece of flat stock. Figure out a way to use the scraps for some other knives, and there wouldn't be all that much material ground away.
I definitely plan on taking the TT idea seriously, and have already started writing a few of my thoughts down. Like I said, I hope this does indeed lead to some great improvements on the designs, but at the same time I hate that lots of good guys are missing out on what, so far, seem like some awesome knives.

And I was only kidding about the test team forum. It doesn't exist. Even if it did, I couldn't talk about it. I was assuming as much on the secret TT forum. Just playing along. I am not looking to make the secret TT thing a big deal. But, it is a little strange that pics of the Regulator and KZ "HAVE" been posted by Jerry and Dan. So, while I can appreciate no reviews or certain comments being posted publicly, I would still love to see more pics. - I LOVE pics! I hope those who purchased take the time and effort to thoroughly test and provide as quality constructive feedback as possible (as opposed to making queens out of them or something). It seems like the idea was obviously to use them and help offer design feedback and so should come with some amount of responsibility to do so. I know you will Vic. - I appreciate your unbiased reviews and opinions. I also "Hope" the reviews are given taking into consideration the real world possible uses for these knives. To me, the KZ should aim to be the ultimate "Chopper". Good for med. to large log chopping and log splitting. I don't really see what else it could be for. IMO, Kukris by design aren't the best for batoning. The Regulator appears to be geared and designed for combat personel. I would think it should be (possibly ????) reviewed as such a knife.... keeping military uses in mind. I don't know for sure. But, I would think Dan and Jerry should maybe dictate some specifics of what they are hoping the knife is best suited for or intended to be used for. I think some people would likely fault the Regulator (for example)for not having the best "Bush-crafting" abilities. Or not being designed as a good chopper. Well, it is obviously thick, so toughness is obviously one goal - and not a concern with SR-101 at that thickness (IMO) And... it might not chop as well as a SOD, but I don't believe it was designed to chop like a SOD. It WILL chop I am sure. But, I assume it was intended to have a certain "set" of abilities. I can look at that knife and think what "MY" opinions are of what it should be. But, I think it might be helpful if Dan chimmed in on what he is hoping it to be ideally designed for. ... Am I making sense or rambling incoherently? .
