It would be pretty cool if Dan did something like a DF production run that was available for forum participants (somehow restricted upon that).

Either way it is one awesome knife . I do prefer the LE though

I was kind of surprised when Dan said that having a DF was sort of a knightship in the 'Yard, but I guess he's right. Everybody wants one.

The Dog Father is a great chopper in any configuration. But which is the best for you, LE or CG, depends on your needs. The LE can cut brush and “whip” trees that would chokes a CG, while the CG can eat up heavy or hard wood that would tests the LE.
You’ll hear folks tout one or the other as best, but that’s because they live in an area where that particular model is well matched to what they commonly encounter. And that should be your goal, to be someone who’s DF is perfectly matched to their needs.
So what do you typically use a chopper for? Since you’re a mountain Westerner (your tag says Golden, CO), would you use it mostly while camping in the tall timbers (CG), or more for clearing brush along the stream down in the prairie (LE)?

Got the DFLE, know I need a DGCG!!! Wouldn´t call it mega-chopper but it is a really really really nice allround chopper. Good luck with getting a Dogfather

Great question! For me, it is CG.

I thought that might be the case.
The next step is finding one. The two most active secondary markets are eBay and BladeForums.com. You may have to pay up but DF’s are tough as nail and will last a lifetime.

Everybody wants one. I don't really want one, honestly. I have other big choppers that I think I would prefer. If they did a re-release at a good price, I would probably snag one, but I doubt I'd like it better than my M9LE.

Try an LE MM and ya might change your mind . The 9LE is OK- but the DFLE is awesome . If ya get a chance give it a whirl

The DF is what got me over here to the Yard in the first place. I really would like to get a CG and LE DF, but since I just preordered a Waki I should only get one. Now, I just need to get funds together and add it to my growing collection.

I can't see myself paying secondary market prices if all that I need is some patience for Dan to eventually get around to a production run of DFs. If I could just find that patience pill that I have lying around here I will be all set.
