Or it was just put there on the HG55 to look cool

I doubt you could figure out a good practical reason why the "inactive duty" that was offered at BLADE had a blade that was like a foot thick, but it sure looked cool, and the hogs were eating it up

I think it looks cool A HG55LE would be sweet but no way I can afford it right now

The CGFBM is way high up on the list of wants for me. Unfortunately the prices are crazy high too. Just as I thought I was getting close to being able to afford one, the Waki comes out(and you know I need two of those ). I had a NMFBM but it was just a bit too bulky and hard to swing for longer periods of time for my liking, and I was a little short on cash so I sold it. Now I really really want a CG. Hopefully sometime soon

Do you think the FBM will be easier to swing for long periods of time? It's a pretty hefty knife, about as heavy as I would want a user. Mine weighs 25 oz.The 17 oz DFLE is a lot easier to swing all day.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I would think the CG would be a good deal easier then the NM. That extra 1 1/2"of blade length on the NM must add a good amount of heft. I really want a Dogfather LE badly (as if you couldn't tell by my recent posts )I just can't find one for a reasonable price on the secondary market. Hopefully I'll get a shot and Dan will throw some into the yard (if not an LE at least a version with a full flat grind).

BTW: I got my SOD boxed up and ready to ship tomorrow. Looking forward to the bad [censored] edge you're gonna put on it

I so wish they had made a thin version of that NMFBM to keep the weight down. That's the only thing that kept me from buying one. The FFBM is a heavy beast of a knife at 30 oz or so, and I feared that the NMFBM would be as heavy. If Dan offers some more flat ground DFs, I'm getting another for backup. The DFLE is just about as perfect as a chopper can get. The M9LE is nice, too. I just think that about 22 oz is as heavy as I want a chopper for all-around use.

Yeah a NMFBM at .20 or so would have been sweet. The M9 doesn't feel as heavy as it is. It is remarkably light in hand for it's size/thickness. Really nice blade

I would definitely like something dogfather sized, in a full flat grind and not too heavy....

I guess the Dog Father is our FBM, but a Scrap Yard "War Bith" would be awesome!
