Cool deal on the handle material Tyger! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> Can't wait to see what you do with it in the form of knife handles. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I have yet to use real wood for a handle but eventually, I will give it a go. I used Dymonwood for a couple of my kits and Cnavas Micarta for the others. I love some of the natural woods though. I wasn't aware that cocobolo didn't need to be stabilized because of the oil content..Live and learn <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

You do need to wear a mask when working with cocobolo because it can be harmful to your health if not.

We made our first prototypes out of plexiglass or G10 for ease of fitting ,filing and design changes. Then we made the first production run out of different colors for sale. Then the steel ones were crafted....fun with plastics. The gov't found good use for those NON Metal versions.
