hey CRPOC, the vex is really nice and stupid sharp. if you an snag one i recommend it. until then you are only 5 posts from JYD!!!!!!!! let's get it!!!!!!!

The mojo is a nice little knife - it chopped a lot better in my test than it did with the factory edge. I was forced to convex it after the masonry nail incident <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

Considering how poorly the NMSFNO performed, the mojo was a champ for it's size. It also does darn well at tasks like batoning and brush clearing.

didn't know you had convexed it. what did you use and did you notice anything different about doing a recurve? i'm going to use my yard hook some and when it's time i want to put a convex edge on it.

Took your advice. Found one on the secondary. Forced to buy it, didn't take much. Will have pics when I get it.

I convexed it with a mouse pad and sandpaper - the recurve is definitely a pain in the butt, and harder to sharpen. I kept the pad/paper right at the edge of the table, so I was able to roll the knife over the edge and reach the inside of the curve. i think i will try the mouse pad approach when it's time. hopefully this one will be worth the effort.

Took some pictures of the convex edge - it's not perfect, since it was done by hand.

These were taken just now - I haven't touched the blade up AT ALL since the chopoff last weekend. This knife went through over 60 chops in green hardwood, plus was batoned through several birch logs, and was used for brush clearing and tree delimbing as well. It won't shave, but will still slice paper. No obvious rolls or chips - just a few rusty spots along the edge, which would clean up in seconds on a strop.
