Well that is the UK. Didn't the King of England make the table knives to have the now common rounded tip so nobody would stab him at dinner? Or maybe it was the King of France. The new design looks even more stupid.

I always heard it was the King of England. Even if it were France the common factor is the King--I bet he has one <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbdn.gif" alt="" />

better ban 3M wet/dry autobody paper too. and ceramic stones, and and and and and.........

Massive government project to employ those who want to work. We are tearing all concrete out and replacing it with nerf pellets. All mountains, rocks, etc will be replaced with paper machet so none will be tempted to create weapons of destruction.

I just took a walk outside. In less than a 40' x 60' space, i counted over 3000+ things i could use as a weapon (improvised, direct or otherwise)

we better ban plants with flexible stalks and fibers, we would'nt want someone to strangle someone with it.

better ban socks too. I could fill one with pebbles or small rocks and cosh ya with it.

better ban trees and shrubs. I can make a thumping stick with a tree limb, or a spiky flail with certain shrubs.

better ban sand. I could throw it in your eye!

That is the truth. A while back I started a thread in the Outdoor section about weapons that came from other items. Consensus, already knew it, was it is the person that is the weapon and everything else is a tool.

Put a cork on the fork so you don't poke out your eye at the dinner table.

Hahahahahahahahahahah! This is so absurd, it's hilarious! This moronic invention isn't going to stop stabbings. Ban grinders and similar devices? The sidewalk and stones are plentiful and can act as makeshift "grinders." You know, if things keep going this direction, we'll be back to fighting with sticks and rocks in no time. Hmmmm, perhaps we'll start throwing feces at each other like some particular people who were living in trees in my home state!

As for whoever invented this, does he nnot realize that anyone who knows how to use a knife to "fight," knows that slashing can be a very effective means of hurting someone? People like this don't really seem to think things through.

Perhaps I'm wrong since I'm no chef, but aren't there times when you really need a pointed kitchen knife? If a point weren't necessary, wouldn't everyone just have cleavers or similar knives in their kitchens?

He probably thought it quite thoroughly, charging 40 to 50 pounds for a gimmick knife. Great profit margin I bet.
If you make a tool that is fool proof then only a fool will use it

What's good about the stab-proof knife is it's showing it's not our saks and folders and edc blades that are the problem, they are not what most stabbings are from, but "Kitchen Knives!"

It's admitting what the stats have said all along, and with the new laws they are trying to pass here, that could help, at least open some eyes to what's real (the problem) and what's not the problem, our EDC and outdoor blades.

iirc, bayonets are intentionally left "dull" so that when stabbing rather than slice clean cuts, they rip and tear which causes more bleeding and is more difficult to repair. so, isn't that knife even more dangerous? or like others have pointed out, just use the edge.

That's why everyone that values your rights needs to contact Customs pertaining to this ridiculous folder ban they're pushing, before we end up like these poor SOBs over in England.
