its quite simple, if you want a stab proof knife, make it like a GOLOK. I honestly never use the tip of my knives, except to jam into stumps for pictures.

Absolutely ridiculous!
A person could still slash with it! Uh Oh, hopefully I didn't just let the cat out of the bag that knives can also be used to cut. Now, they just might be forced to start using plastic knives over there. Darn, I should have just kept my mouth shut.

They need to create some blunt nails, too, while they are at it. Otherwise, people will improvise and make shanks, after all.

I think Dan, Jerry and Eric would have to get so drunk the earth would start spinning in reverse to ever make a knife like that.
We're safe.
And by "safe" I mean Bussekin's knives will never be!
(BTW, as we all know, a knife never stabs anyone. )

Well that is the UK. Didn't the King of England make the table knives to have the now common rounded tip so nobody would stab him at dinner? Or maybe it was the King of France. The new design looks even more stupid.

"will reduce the risk of accidental injuries."
How many times have you accidentally stabbed yourself with a knife? Now how many times have you accidentally cut yourself with the edge of a knife?

I would surmise however, that the true intent is not to reduce crime but rather to exercise control over their citizens.

Man, talk about approaching the problem from the wrong angle! Unbelievable.
Who wants to start a betting pool to predict the next thing they ban? Myself, I'm guessing it'll be sporting equipment in public places. All your equipment will be safely locked up at the gym/field due to the risks of baseball bats and golf clubs etc.
(Either that or you'll need a special permit to buy steel chain; consumer grade chain will be nylon. Can't get a good swing with it, see.)

Plastic toothbrushes. That's what's next. Why? Because you can rub them on the ground to sharpen the handle to make a stabbing weapon. They will be made out of rubber instead.
Anyone seen the movie "Equilibrium?" This reminds me of that. To stop violence, the people have to take an emotion suppressant so nobody can experience anger and, conversly, happiness. The lesson? Sacrifices need to be made for people to really be happy and government control is not the solution to all of our problems.

How many times have you accidentally stabbed yourself with a knife? Now how many times have you accidentally cut yourself with the edge of a knife? Exactly, the whole thing is ridiculous! Maybe they will make everything in the world out of nerf rubber so no one can hurt anyone anymore. I would have said marshmallows but Obama wouldn't allow it - he's gonna force the US to be fit so the fatty's don't cost us so much in health care <-- not kidding either. What is this world coming to? We MUST DESTROY THE POINTY END - THAT's THE DANGEROUS PART!!! <--- Idiots!

I just took a walk outside. In less than a 40' x 60' space, i counted over 3000+ things i could use as a weapon (improvised, direct or otherwise)
we better ban plants with flexible stalks and fibers, we would'nt want someone to strangle someone with it.
better ban socks too. I could fill one with pebbles or small rocks and cosh ya with it.
better ban trees and shrubs. I can make a thumping stick with a tree limb, or a spiky flail with certain shrubs.
better ban sand. I could throw it in your eye!

We are tearing all concrete out and replacing it with nerf pellets. All mountains, rocks, etc will be replaced with paper machet so none will be tempted to create weapons of destruction.

Great profit margin I bet. If you make a tool that is fool proof then only a fool will use it

What's good about the stab-proof knife is it's showing it's not our saks and folders and edc blades that are the problem, they are not what most stabbings are from, but "Kitchen Knives!"
It's admitting what the stats have said all along, and with the new laws they are trying to pass here, that could help, at least open some eyes to what's real (the problem) and what's not the problem, our EDC and outdoor blades.

iirc, bayonets are intentionally left "dull" so that when stabbing rather than slice clean cuts, they rip and tear which causes more bleeding and is more difficult to repair. so, isn't that knife even more dangerous? or like others have pointed out, just use the edge.

With banning all non-blunted knives, are they going to ban any and all types of sharpening stones and grinders as well? Anyone could take one of those blunt knives and make it have a tip again.
These people really need to stop focusing laws on the method and instruments of harm, and instead focus on the intent of those wishing to do harm. Make harsher laws, like the death penalty, and you will reduce crime.... or at least get rid of repeat offenders! As one of the few dogs living in this mixed up country, on the whole I agree with this... However- the death penalty will never be brought back. Two reasons, firstly no jury would convict if the defendant faced the noose as miscarriages of justice do occur (both sides of the pond..) and secondly there are too many do-gooder, bleeding heart, wishy-washy, (offenders) human rights obsessed a-holes over here who scare the hell out of the government so they'd never bring hanging back... Me, if I had my back to a wall and one of those knives handy I'd just go for the carotid artery. On offenders- I just wish the judiciary over here would lock the repeat offenders up for life on the third jailable offence like (I believe) many US states do. That would either serve as a deterrent to others or at least get the pointless pond-life off the streets... Rant Over!

The "people" that really need to be examined are the 'doctors' who are making the documentaries against knives.
"It was invented by industrial designer John Cornock, who was inspired by a documentary in which doctors advocated banning traditional knives."
Didn't some 'doctors' make a stink about razor sharp Teflon coated bullets that when fires from a handgun can pierce the bucket of a bulldozer and blow people's heads off when then accidentally shoot themselves in the foot? This article seriously makes me wonder if those doctors were given their degrees, with no schooling, in exchange for putting together the documentary.
Getting my Zombie kit ready and watching out for those Corpse Men!!!

Funny story now... I went to the local Mom and Pop grocery to pick up some brewski's, buns, ice cream, you know the necessities. I was almost ready to check out and my phone goes off. My boy (then 10 yrs. old) tells me hurry home he stabbed himself. I threw everything down, ran out the door, drove like a maniac to get home. Ran inside to find a invisible, smaller than small, little puncture. I was greatly relieved but told him (just like Big Jake did) that he just took 10 yrs. off my life, and I didn't have 10 yrs. to spare. Now I can laugh, them it wasn't quite as funny.
