Don't know who will secede first, but been hearing about a book coming out called Oren's war. Might be an interesting (and prophetic ?) read. I hope and pray this never happens to THIS country, but every once in a while everybody gets to big for their britches!

Not going to happen, but if it did then Texas would be the most likely to TRY. Remember a little thing called "the war between the states", or sometimes known as the "war of northern aggression", or best known as the "civil war"? The U.S. Government will not allow it to happen. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> I doubt I will see it happen. But heck, it might be better to have that happen than the whole nation go down the tubes. The country is rotting from the coasts.

Who would have ever thought Pravda would be lecturing us on the evils of communism and lamenting the collapse of freedom and capitalism? All my years in military service were in vain. While we held the line against Marxism, the Marxists took over our universitites, churches, schools, news media, and finally our government. Maybe Russia can invade us now and "liberate" us. Not sure which side I'd take in that scenario.

I cannot see it happening except perhaps with Hawaii...if Texas would jump the oil there would probably have a preventative effect from the rest of the USA. Scotland wanted to go independant because of it's oil wealth off the coast...but territorial waters are only as good as your ability to defend them...same with land really.
Personally if Texas jumped ship and adopted a strong but fair conservative set of policies which protected the right to bear arms and dropped all the unworkable "bail out" crap...that would be where I would like to live if I was in the USA. I like the people and have a number of friends there...

I would say Texas but the problem is if only one state was successful at it there would be a population problem because half the country would want to move there. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> Seriously.

Vic - do you remember when Nikita Kruschev warned that "We will bury you without firing a shot!"? Sadly, looks like he was right. As you said, they have taken over the schools and universities, churches, media, etc. Each generation that moves farther and farther away from our country's founding principles bears that out. And since they teach very little History in schools nowdays, how many younger folks even know who Kruschev was or about the "cold war"?!!? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />
